EN3A and EN3B are general engineering steels, suitable in applications where heavy stresses and heat treatment are not involved, such as welded and riveted structures, forgings, machined parts, and hot pressing. We Stock this in a range of sizes and shapes. It is a bright drawn, or turned, mild steel with good machinability. Ideal for use in a variety of general engineering applications. EN3A and EN3B can be case hardened and is normally supplied in the as drawn / as a turned condition. EN3A and EN3B steel will withstand a moderate amount of cold deformation and only offers low strength but good machinability. The material has good weldability characteristics however it has poor hardenability.
