Red Rock and City Meta Lab Unveil a New Integrated Model for Food Security, Technology and Urban Resilience

Red Rock Technology and City Meta Lab have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at redefining how food security, advanced technology and architectural intelligence can converge into a single, scalable model for the future.

The initiative brings together Red Rock’s expertise in AI-driven systems, digital governance and technological supervision with City Meta Lab’s internationally recognised capabilities in architecture, urban systems and spatial innovation.

At the core of the collaboration is the development of a new generation of Food Security and Resilience Centers — large-scale infrastructures designed not only for production, but also for research, education, institutional engagement and long-term national resilience.

Unlike traditional agricultural or vertical farming projects, the model integrates:

• Fully automated and AI-supervised hydroponic production systems,
• Advanced seed preservation and genetic safeguarding facilities,
• Centralized AI control and operations centers, and public-facing institutional layers dedicated to education, knowledge transfer and global cooperation.

“Food security is no longer an agricultural problem alone — it is a technological, architectural and governance challenge,” Red Rock’s Chairman stated. “This collaboration allows us to design systems that are resilient, transparent and future-proof at a national and institutional level.”

City Meta Lab contributes a design and urban vision that transforms highly technical infrastructure into legible, visitable and symbolic spaces, capable of hosting researchers, policymakers, universities and international delegations, while remaining operationally efficient.

The partners emphasized that the initiative aligns with the UAE’s long-term priorities around sustainability, innovation, food security and strategic autonomy, positioning the country as a reference point for integrated infrastructure models that can be replicated globally.

While initial studies and conceptual frameworks have already been developed, the collaboration is structured to support phased implementation, allowing public institutions, sovereign entities and large enterprises to engage at different levels — from research and pilot programs to full-scale deployment.

By combining technology supervision, architectural intelligence and institutional governance, Red Rock and City Meta Lab aim to establish a new benchmark for how critical infrastructure is conceived in the age of AI and climate uncertainty.
